About Us

Kathleen (Katie) Caffrey, PhD, and Chad Sanders, PhD, both graduated from the Clinical Psychology doctoral program at Washington State University. Katie completed her residency training at the VA Los Angeles ambulatory care center and Chad completed his residency at the University of Washington Medical Center and Harborview Medical Center followed by a two-year postdoctoral fellowship back at WSU. After his postdoc, Chad was brought on at Palouse Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, part of the Pullman Regional Hospital Clinic Network, and Katie later joined him where they both provided psychotherapy and neuropsychological testing services for several years before opening this private practice.

As licensed Clinical Psychologists, they have received the highest level of training in mental health care focused specifically on psychological assessment and psychotherapy. This includes advanced graduate education prioritizing a deep understanding of complex emotional, behavioral, and relational concerns and presentations along with the full range of requisite empirically supported therapies and related scientific literature. This training background also encompasses years of extensive supervised clinical experience across a wide range of practica and residency training rotations.

This training provides a full and nuanced understanding of mental health concerns and effective treatment approaches – but it does not solely determine how therapy unfolds. Instead, it is a foundation upon which intention and flexibility help shape the process of therapy together through collaboration, responsiveness, and genuine connection, all the while staying attentive to what feels most meaningful and helpful along the way.

Billing & Insurance

We are contracted and work with the majority of private insurance carriers in our area as well as Medicare and Medicaid, though we cannot guarantee coverage as insurance networks and plan participation can vary. We are happy to help review your insurance eligibility and benefits as part of the scheduling process.

For covered, in-network services, we do not balance bill patients; you will not be billed for amounts beyond your plan’s allowable patient responsibility (such as copays, coinsurance, or deductibles), as determined by your insurer.

If a service is not covered or if you choose to receive services outside of insurance we can discuss self-pay options with you in advance.

No Surprises Act – Good Faith Estimate Notice

If you are uninsured or plan to pay for services without using insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your care is expected to cost.

For questions about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, you may contact us at (509) 339-6401 or [email protected] or visit the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services website.
